For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” Are you making it your aim to be well pleasing to Jesus Christ? All of your thoughts, words and deeds will be judged some day! How you use your time, what you spend your money on and what you expel your energy on, will be judged! There are so many distractions in this world, to what is REALLY important! Don’t get distracted by all of the entertainment, sports and amusements. The devil’s goal is to get you to forget God and become an idolater. Psalm 9:17 says, “The wicked shall be turned into Hell, and all the nations that forget God.” Are you ignoring or forgetting about God? Romans 1:25 describes idolatry: they “worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever.” Are you an idolater over sports, teams or athletes? God is the only one who deserves the amount of time, attention and affection that you give to sports, teams and athletes! Sports also promote all manner of wickedness - lust, drunkenness, covetousness, etc. Are you engaging in those things as well? Remember the “wicked shall be turned into Hell...” What should you do? What should you spend your life and time on? Following JESUS!
